The Specialist-Generalist always needs to be attuned to the organisational climate – and be quick to recognise lasting changes in the weather.
Good moves that weren’t possible at one moment in time, can suddenly become do-able. Not least because in more stable times, organisational ‘permafrost’ can freeze the best laid change plans in their tracks.
When things start to warm up; the usual ‘pack ice’ often cracks. Although things can seem too unstable, if you’re agile, the opportunity to make important change is there – among the icebergs.
